Update

Facebook killed my blog. I think this was a much better space to chronicle life. Here is an update with Rain, Aurora, Dave, and me at my 50th bday. What would I tell that young mother whose cup was so full of parenting? I miss those sweet days. How lucky I was to live them.

Winter on the farm and in the city

Here are some more pictures of this sunny March morning.

Here is the neighbors' barn.

Here is a view of the sap house.

Maple syrup is fascinating, but so is rolling down a snowy hill.

I love this little lost treasure of summer contrasting with the brilliance of the snow.

Here is our own celebration of winter; Dave turned our snowman into a snow wild thing.

Sap House

Living on the edge between winter and spring, so we visited the Walkers' farm to see them making maple syrup.
Here is the machine that boils the sap to make syrup.  I think the goal is 216 degrees.

Rain says it tastes much better than maple syrup from the store.

Finn asked tons of questions and wanted a tour of the farmhouse built in 1905: it is gorgeous.

Pumpkin Patch

We picked some lovely pumpkins today on this perfect fall day!

Halloween Party

We went to a wild party last night to celebrate spooky.  It was fabulous!

Solar Decathlon

We went to Washington, DC last weekend for the Solar Decathlon.  The kids and I stuck to the museums as it was wet and cold the whole time, but Dave enjoyed the work he visited.

Loose tooth. . . no tooth!

Fall is Fun!

My mom took the boys out shopping for some fall clothes today and they look adorable in them.  Thanks, Onnie!
